Brenda Wilson

Brenda Wilson, President Lafayette Gold Star Mothers

Brenda Wilson, President Lafayette Gold Star Mothers. Brenda not only holds the position of President of the local chapter but is also the Secretary of the Indiana Gold Star Mothers. Brenda is married to CV Wilson and lives in rural Warren County. Brenda became a Gold Star Mother when her son, CPL Bryan Wilson was killed in Iraq. Brenda and CV have two other sons, two wonderful daughter-in-laws and five grandchildren.

 

Dana Vann, Vice President

Dana Vann, Gold Star Mother of SRA John P. Morton, Jr. who died as a result of an accident while stationed at Aviano Air Force Base in Italy in 2002. Dana is the mother of 3 and grandmother of 2. Dana is the Vice President of Lafayette Gold Star Mothers and State Chaplain of Indiana Gold Star Mothers.

 

Marilyn Frantz is the Gold Star Mother of SPC Matthew Frantz (KIA 1/20/2006). Her family is a military family. Marilyn’s husband, Jim, retired from the Army National Guard last year, son Christopher is in the Navy, and son Eric, is in the Air Force. Marilyn is the Vice President of the Lafayette Chapter of Gold Star Mothers. She also serves as the Vice President of the State Gold Star Mothers.

 

Pam Mow, Secretary

Pam Mow is the Gold Star Mother of Cpl Cody Putman (KIA 4/12/2007). She is the mother of three children, two step-children and grandmother of 10. Pam is the Secretary of the Lafayette Gold Mothers and Indiana Gold Star Mothers State President. Pam works at Purdue University as an Administrative Assistant.

Mayor Tony Roswarski, Board Member. Mayor Roswarski is completing his second term as Mayor of Lafayette.  Prior to being Mayor, Tony was a City Councilman and after 23 years in Law Enforcement, he retired as a captain with the Lafayette Police Department.

The Mayor currently serves as the Chief Elected Official for the 12 County Region IV Workforce Investment Board.  He is the chairman of the 9 County Region of the Homeland Security Oversight Committee.

Tony serves as President of the Wabash River Enhancement Corporation, he serves as a Trustee and Executive Vice President for the Indiana Association of Cities and Towns Medical Trust, which is a consortium of 14 Indiana cities who by health care together to control costs.  The Mayor is also a member of the advisory committee for the IU School of Medicine at Purdue University.

Rick Johnson, Board Member. Rick has been with Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc. for over 22 years working in Human Resources in various positions. Rick has worked in Training, Associate Relations, Media and is currently assigned as the Director of Community Relations.

Prior to working at SIA, Rick was a Production Superintendent at Continental Steel in Kokomo, IN. Rick’s past and present memberships or board positions include American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, United Way of Greater Lafayette, American Cancer Society, Junior Achievement, Lyn Treece Boys and Girls Club, PAMCO, Ivy Tech, Harrison College and Indiana University.

Randy Williams, Board Member

Randy Williams, Board Member. Randolph (Randy) F. Williams is President/CEO of Lafayette Saving Bank. He became the 11thpresident in 2001 in its 140 year history.  He came to LSB from Delaware Place Bank in Chicago, IL where he was President/Chief Operating Officer from 1996-2001.  Williams has been in the financial industry since 1974 serving in various positions over his 35-year career.

Williams earned his BBA in 1972 at Kent State University and his MBA in 1978.  He served in the US Army Reserves for six years. He is a graduate of the University of Colorado’s School of Bank Marketing; the University of Wisconsin’s Graduate School of Bank Marketing; and the University of Michigan’s Executive Bank Management Program.

He and his wife Carolyn are the proud parents of two grown children and prouder grandparents of two granddaughters and three grandsons.  Williams grew up in Steubenville, Ohio and is an avid Ohio State University fan…but appreciating the Boilermakers and attending many Purdue games and events.

Williams currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce; is a Board Director of United Way of Greater Lafayette, is a Board Member of Lafayette Transitional Housing; is an Advisory Council Member of the Tippecanoe County Council on Aging; is an Advisory Board member for Harrison College and is a member of the Community Council. He was also recently appointed by Lafayette Mayor Tony Roswarski to serve as a Board Director for the Region 4 Workforce Board. He has served as President of the United Way Board of Directors for two terms.

 

Don Roush

Don Roush, Board Member. Don Roush has been a police officer for the past 24 years and has served as the Chief of the Lafayette Police Department for the past 8 years.  Don has also served with the US Army reserve for 25 years.  He has served two deployments since 2001.  He served in Turkey in 2002-2003 and Afghanistan in 2008. His past and current board memberships include, The American Red Cross, Mental Health America, and Boys and Girls Clubs of America.

Don holds a Bachelor’s degree from Ball State University, a Master’s Degree from Indiana State University and a Master’s Degree from Purdue University.

Mike Mattingly, Board Member

Mike Mattingly, Board Member & Webmaster. Mike is a 21 year Infantry veteran of the US Army and the Indiana Army National Guard attaining the rank of Command Sergeant Major. Mike is currently employed as a Group Leader in Human Resources at Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc.

Among Mike’s accomplishments he has earned the Combat Infantryman Badge (2nd award), Bronze Star Medal , a Senior Parachutist with Bronze Service Star and a graduate of the US Army’s Ranger and Jumpmaster schools. Mike has served in multiple conflicts including Operation Golden Pheasant in Honduras of 1988, The Invasion of Panama 1989, Desert Shield/Storm 1990-91 and security forces Bosnia Herzegovina 2004. In addition, Mike served as military security in the 1996 Summer Olympics and deployed to both Mississippi and Louisiana during Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
