The term Gold Star Mother refers to any mother who has lost a child in the service of our country regardless if it is during a time of conflict or in combat. An American Gold Star Mother is a Gold Star Mother who has joined the American Gold Star Mothers, Inc. AGSM is a private organization that sets its own rules for membership. The AGSM currently requires only that your child died while serving on active duty.
We are the Lafayette, Indiana Gold Star Mothers, a chartered member organization of American Gold Star Mothers, Inc. which started in 1928. We’re proud and we support one another in these greatest days of need. We’ve come together for a common goal to assist with bonding and healing. In addition, we are here to serve this great community and make it a better place for all by never letting the memories of our loved ones sacrifices diminish.
We are also community leaders, widows, veterans, relatives, neighbors and business leaders all seeking to afford everyone who is or has served an opportunity to be recognized for their sacrifices that continue to help make this the greatest nation on Earth.
